🎬 Join the 2026 MINT Chinese Film Festival (MINT CFF) Team! 🎬
Are you passionate about Chinese films, Asian cinema, and Asian culture? Excited to help create the unique festival atmosphere of MINT CFF? We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers who share a love for Chinese and Asian cinema to join our team as we prepare for the 4th MINT CFF, now through March 2026. The festival will take place 6–8 March 2026 at Kendal Brewery Arts Cinema, a vibrant arts and cultural venue in the Lake District town of Kendal, UK, where the festival co-founders first met and envisioned MINT CFF. We are preparing a dynamic festival programme filled with exciting films, screenings, and events.

This is your chance to support the 4th MINT CFF 2026 while developing your skills and unlocking your potential.
📅 Commitment
Work Cycle: 5 December 2025 – mid-March 2026
Workload: Minimum 40 hours of remote voluntary work over the period. Preference given to candidates who can commit to the full volunteer period.
Specific Schedules:
• Film Programming: Key tasks assigned between 6 December and mid-January, with additional work leading up to the festival opening.
• Marketing: Flexible, ad-hoc tasks from late December to early March.
• Graphic Design: Immediate start preferred. Flexible tasks in December, with more structured tasks from January to early March.
• Videography (on-site only): 5–9 March, Kendal, UK, with festival accommodation provided.
📌 Role Details
Film Programming:
• Assist in reviewing and evaluating film submissions
• Write curatorial notes and prepare interview questions
• Support the festival team with other curation-related tasks
• Contribute to the curation of festival workshops and events
Marketing:
• Assist with festival marketing activities and creation of promotional materials
• Conduct media and audience research
• Help with copywriting and social media content
• Contribute to event photography on-site during the festival if possible
Graphic Design:
• Collaborate with the festival team and lead visual designer to create promotional materials
• Contribute to the design and production of visual and marketing assets
Videography (on-site only):
• Shoot and film the live event footage, producing a short festival video capturing highlights of the 3-day festival
📌 Additional Information
• Volunteers should apply for one primary position, but may express interest in secondary roles if they can manage the workload and guarantee sufficient time to complete all tasks for their primary role.
• In special circumstances, responsibilities can be adjusted with prior communication as appropriate.

About Primary and Secondary Positions: We will match you with the role that best suits your skills, interests, and experience. You can apply for one primary position or indicate interest in multiple roles if you’re confident about managing additional responsibilities.
🎯 What We’re Looking For
Language Skills:
• Native Chinese speakers fluent in English (spoken and written), or bilingual in Chinese and English
Educational Background:
• Preference for students at UK universities
• Applications also welcome from students at European and international universities outside the UK, as well as GAP year students
Passion and Interests:
• Enthusiasm for film festivals, Asian cinema, Chinese culture, and creative industries
• Interest in hands-on learning about film festivals and creative projects
• Experience in film festivals or similar arts/cultural/community events is a plus
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
• Graphic Design roles: Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop
• Videography roles: Experience in videography or event video shooting preferred; skills in filmmaking or documentary making required; candidates must bring their own equipment to the festival set.
Communication and Writing Skills:
• Strong oral and written communication skills, preferably with experience or excellent ability in creative writing (Chinese and/or English)
• Translation skills are a plus
Organizational Skills:
• Highly organized, able to multitask, and manage time effectively
• Flexible and capable of problem-solving
• Responsible and able to work independently or as part of a team
